Caring for your Opals

Opals are what I like to call rainbow earth glass, they are one of the softer stones in nature and will crack easily if not handled with care!

Opal doublets in particular should never be immersed in detergent (and preferably not even water) as this may break down the adhesive quality of the glass.

But if you protect your Opal from heavy blows, abrasive materials, and extreme amounts of heat and direct sunlight, your opal should last for lifetimes.
